About tXt_blaster

tXt_blaster is an SMS TXT messaging service designed specifically with students and student groups in mind. tXt_blaster connects student group leaders with all of their group members, instantly and at no cost other than the price of a single SMS TXT message; no lengthy listserv, no dead email addresses. Students use tXt_blaster to keep up with their fraternity brothers, their sorority sisters, their study-buddies, their club sports teams -- in fact, any on- or off-campus community or group that needs simple, up-to-the-minute communications sure to reach every member of the community. Magic.

Anyone can be a tXt_blaster

All you need to become a tXt_blaster member is a TXT-enabled mobile phone. Pick a "keyword" to name your tXt_blaster group and invite your group members to join. Keep it clean. A single TXT message sent to that keyword reaches every member of your group in seconds. Belong to more than one club or team? Sign up for 10. Sign up for a hundred. Heck, sign up for a zillion. Go ahead. We dare you. We double dare you.

How We Make it Free

We charge group leaders and their members the whopping sum of absolutely nothing -- zero, zip, nada, zilch -- for groups and their members to use tXt_blaster. How do we do it? Simple: you get the first 100 characters of every message you send through our system and we get the last 60 into which we place an advertisement -- one we think will be relevant to the members of your student group or club. How many characters do you need? The average TXT message is 30 to 40 characters in length. Feeling long-winded? Go for it. Write a 100-character novel. There's room.

How We Keep it Safe

Simply put, we will never sell, give away or redistribute your mobile phone number or those of your group's members. Not only would we suck if we did that, we'd go to jail. Yep, federal and state communications laws prohibit us from selling you down the river, so we just won't go there. Period.

Ads a Mother Could Love . . .

Not to worry: when we add advertisements to your TXT messages, we think about your mother. Would we want your mother to be offended by an advertisement we include in a TXT message you send or receive? No, we would not. So: no ads for porn, no "adult" products, no alcohol, no tobacco, no guns; in short, ads your mother will approve of when she finds your phone and checks your TXT messages. Whatever else is on there is your problem. We've already done our best to make your mother feel good. The rest is up to you.
